USDT (Tether)

Last reviewed:

USDT, often called Tether, is a stablecoin issued by a company named Tether. It is designed to stay worth one U.S. dollar, and the company says each token is backed by reserves such as cash and short-term U.S. government debt. USDT runs on several blockchains, so sending it on the wrong network can mean losing it.
