Gas fee

Last reviewed:

A gas fee is the cost of getting a transaction processed on a blockchain, most often on Ethereum. The fee goes to the network's validators, not to the app you are using. Gas fees rise when the network is busy and fall when it is quiet. You usually pay the fee even if your transaction fails.
