Blockchain

Last reviewed:

A blockchain is a shared record of transactions that many computers keep at the same time. New entries are grouped into blocks, and each block is linked to the one before it, forming a chain. Because everyone holds a copy and the links are checked with math, no single person can secretly change or erase an old entry.
