What is a crypto IRA?
Last reviewed:
A crypto IRA is an individual retirement account that holds crypto, usually a self-directed IRA run by a specialized custodian. It follows the same IRS rules and contribution limits as other IRAs. These accounts can charge higher fees, and the custodian, not you, holds the keys. Retirement money in crypto faces the same price swings as any crypto.
