How to report a crypto scammer: a beginner's guide

Last reviewed:

Reporting a crypto scam means telling the authorities and the platforms involved. In the U.S., victims can file a report with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov and with the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Reports help investigators trace funds and warn others. Be careful: anyone who contacts you promising to recover your money for a fee is likely another scammer.
