How to cash out crypto: a beginner's guide

Last reviewed:

Cashing out crypto means turning it back into regular money, like dollars, and moving that money to a bank account. It usually happens through an exchange or another company that must verify your identity. In the U.S., cashing out is often a taxable event. Scammers sometimes invent fake withdrawal fees to trap people who try to cash out.
