Crypto regulation bill, explained for beginners

Last reviewed:

Crypto regulation means the laws and rules governments set for crypto. In the U.S., several agencies share the job: the SEC, the CFTC, the Treasury's FinCEN, the IRS and state regulators. The GENIUS Act set federal rules for payment stablecoins in 2025, and Congress has also considered wider market rules, such as the CLARITY Act. Other countries have their own systems.
