What is a wallet address?

Last reviewed:

A wallet address is a string of letters and numbers that works like an account number for receiving crypto. You can share it safely, because it lets people send to you but not take from you. Each blockchain uses its own address format. Always copy and check it carefully, since a payment to the wrong address usually cannot be undone.
