What is a crypto bridge?

A crypto bridge is a tool that moves tokens from one blockchain to another. Usually, it locks the token on the first chain and creates a matching token on the second. Bridges hold large amounts of crypto, which makes them a big target for hackers. Some of the largest crypto thefts have come from bridge hacks.
