Crypto vs stocks: what's the difference?

Last reviewed:

A stock is a small share of ownership in a company, which may have profits, assets and legal duties to shareholders. Most crypto coins are not ownership in any company. Stocks trade on regulated markets during set hours, while crypto trades all day, every day. Both can lose value, but crypto prices usually swing much more.
