How to buy crypto: a beginner's guide

Last reviewed:

Buying crypto means exchanging regular money for a cryptocurrency or token. It usually happens through a company that runs an exchange or an app, and in the U.S. those companies must verify your identity. Each purchase can carry fees and spreads. What you buy can rise or fall fast, and some tokens lose almost all their value.
