What is a cold wallet?

A cold wallet keeps your crypto keys offline, away from the internet. It is often a small hardware device, but it can also be a seed phrase written on paper. Because hackers cannot reach a device that is not online, cold wallets are harder to steal from. The trade-off is that they take more steps to use.
